Deltek Becomes Major Sponsor of Architects for Aid

Herndon, VA(May 23, 2007) -- Deltek, a leading provider of enterprise applications software for project-focused organisations has become a major sponsor of Architects for Aid (A4A), a charity founded by a group of leading UK architects and supported by the entire AEC industry. Deltek, whose applications are used by some of the main players in the UK AEC industry, has given £25,000 towards A4A’s work. In particular, Deltek is the exclusive sponsor of a project involving the re-building of a residential children’s counselling unit in Lesotho, a small country where HIV/AIDS and high unemployment mean that 59% of the population lives below the poverty line.

A4A works alongside local, national and international aid organisations, other charities and NGOs offering professional knowledge, expertise and management skills plus practical “hands-on” support to help ensure the provision of long-term and sustainable shelter that is entirely fit for purpose. On this particular project, A4A is working with Sentebale, a charity founded in 2004 by Prince Harry of Wales and Prince Seesio of Lesotho.

Bill Clark, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Deltek, said “This is an ideal sponsorship for Deltek given our strong presence in the AEC market, as well as our support of A4A’s mission. Many AEC companies already use our products and we feel this sponsorship can help to advance our customers’ own charitable activities. We are very excited to be working hand in hand with A4A and the AEC industry in a planned, intelligent and professional way to offer lasting, valuable solutions that have the potential to change lives.”

Maxwell Hutchinson, chairman and founder of A4A, underlines how important Deltek’s support is: “We can provide the experience and expertise, but without sponsorships such as this, such worthwhile projects would not be feasible.” He was also quick to reassure other potential sponsors that, unlike some charities where a large proportion of their money goes to organisational overhead, A4A adds value to the donation. ”Because A4A is supported by qualified and highly-skilled architectural, building and engineering professionals, Deltek’s generous sponsorship will be maximised out in the field,” he added.
