July 13, 2007 -- Longview, TX – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the Town of Greenburgh, New York’s Police Department has procured additional products from GTG’s LG GIS software suite. The Police Department will be implementing licenses of LGcrimes software to expand the Department’s existing LG platform which includes other GIS applications for dispatch and mobile mapping.
LGcrimes is an affordable and easy-to-use crime reporting, mapping, and analysis software application designed for towns, cities, and counties of all sizes and complexities. LGcrimes aids in the visualization and analysis of police incident information. The spatial distribution of crimes will allow law enforcement professionals to maximize the use of departmental assets to satisfy the ever-growing demand for critical services. Public Safety departments with limited budgets and staff can now take advantage of crime analysis technology while leveraging their organization’s investment in GIS technology.
The Greenburgh Police Department also purchased additional searches for arrests, citations and accidents for the LGcrimes product.
James Kelt, GTG’s Regional Manager, stated that, “The Town of Greenburgh, NY has invested a significant amount of tax payer’s dollars in their public safety databases to maintain CRIME incident data. This database contains a wealth of current and historical data that can now be leveraged in GIS with LGcrimes. LGcrimes procured by Greenburgh is the bridge between crime locations and the City’s GIS. LGcrimes gives officers the ability to geographically represent the locations from the crime record management system database. This gives the City the ability to leverage GIS tools and techniques to make the Town a safer place for the public and community as a whole.”
