Tyrone, Georgia, April 16, 2009 -- Osmose Utilities Services today announced the acquisition of the Hawaii utility construction company Ikaika, Inc. Ikaika (pronounced ē-ki-ka) has built a solid reputation with its customers for safety, quality and dependability. All Ikaika employees will be joining Osmose. Ikaika is a Hawaiian name that means “strength”.
Phil Halsch, director of sales and operations for Osmose in Hawaii said, “By combining Ikaika’s installation and construction services with our inspection and maintenance offerings we can improve the efficiency of service delivery to utilities throughout the islands. Our goal is to continually grow the resources and solutions that we can provide to our customers.” Ikaika services have included traditional overhead and underground construction and substation as well as power plant concrete and masonry work.
Tony Gregory, who was the owner of Ikaika, will report directly to Phil Halsch and continue to provide day-to-day leadership. “We will continue to use the Ikaika name, now as an Osmose company, and we look forward to joining the Osmose family. We believe that both companies share values that are important to our employees and to our customers”, said Mr. Gregory.
