“To date, thousands of Triton and eXplorist users have reaped the benefits of downloading AccuTerra regional content from MagellanGPS.com for their GPS devices,” said Michael Bullock, vice president of consumer electronics for Intermap. “The new SD card offering gives consumers the ease and flexibility to buy an SD card that is preloaded with outdoor content for all 50 states, which is an exceptional value for the consumer. We’re excited to now provide Magellan users with two methods to obtain great content for their devices – via our existing online regional downloads or this new SD card option with U.S. wide coverage.”
The easy-to-use SD cards contain digital terrain data, off-road and recreation-related roads, trails, and points-of-interest such as campgrounds, service facilities, and landmarks for all 50 states. Additionally, customers benefit from a land-management data layer that displays the location of public lands (national forest, wilderness areas, state parks, etc.) and private property for most recreation areas in the United States. The new SD cards will be available in numerous retail stores or directly from the Magellan website in time for the summer recreation season.
“Magellan continues to work to provide our customers the best set of options to maximize their outdoor activities. Topo USA, now available on pre-loaded SD cards, is just another way Magellan is teaming with its partners to create valuable ways to maximize their devices,” said Justin Doucette, Magellan’s product marketing directors. “When our customers use AccuTerra maps on their Magellan GPS devices, they aren’t just getting a map, they’re getting access to every surrounding detail – all in one powerful device.”
Please ask for Topo USA (powered by AccuTerra) at your local retailer or check online at www.magellangps.com. Magellan devices supporting the SD card product line are the Triton 400, 500, 1500, 2000 units, and the eXplorist 400, 500, 600, and XL units.
