Tech Soft 3D and Tetra 4D Announce Partnership to Provide Next Generation 3D Technology for Adobe Acrobat X

BERKELEY, CA and SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Oct 18, 2010 -- Tech Soft 3D, the leading provider of component technology to the engineering software industry, announced today that Tetra 4D will be the exclusive provider of Tech Soft 3D's powerful 3D CAD converters running within Adobe Acrobat X Pro. Tetra 4D will release 3D PDF Converter as a plug-in running directly from the menu bar of Acrobat X Pro. To be released later this year, 3D PDF Converter is a next generation solution for users of Acrobat Pro Extended and Acrobat 3D who create 3D PDF files today.

With 3D PDF Converter, users can easily convert native 3D CAD data to rich, interactive 3D PDF documents -- complete with product manufacturing information (PMI), assembly structure, metadata and views. Users can export precise BREP 3D CAD data to neutral file formats such as STEP, IGES or STL that can be used in CAD, CAM and CAE applications and other downstream manufacturing processes. 3D PDF Converter will also ship with updated CAD importers for 3D Reviewer -- the included software for advanced preparation of 3D CAD data -- before saving to 3D PDF. With 3D Reviewer, users can merge CAD files, move and delete parts, create animations and exploded assemblies, create and manage bills of material, and much more.

"Since acquiring the 3D translation technology from Adobe earlier this year, Tech Soft 3D's development team in Lyon, France has been working hard to update the 3D translators," said Ron Fritz, CEO of Tech Soft 3D. "We're pleased to be working with Tetra 4D to provide this next generation technology to Acrobat users. Acrobat users will benefit from the focus and attention of Tetra 4D, whose mission is to help manufacturing companies adopt 3D PDF into their engineering, manufacturing and technical publication workflows."

"We've talked to many end-users in the last few months, and they're glad to learn that the efforts they've put into integrating 3D PDF into their processes will continue to be supported into the future," said Greg Baker, General Manager for Tetra 4D. "We're looking forward to providing existing Acrobat users with the support for CATIA V5R20 and Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0 they've been asking for. We've worked closely with Adobe to make sure we have a great offer for Acrobat users who are moving to Acrobat X Pro."

"Adobe selected Tech Soft 3D for their expertise and deep relationships with leading engineering software providers who are asking for solutions to read and write to PRC and 3D PDF," said Kevin M. Lynch, Vice-President of the Acrobat Product Division. "Through this partnership Acrobat Pro Extended and Acrobat 3D users will benefit from the powerful new capabilities of Acrobat X Pro while staying current with the fast pace of 3D CAD software updates."
