Single-person households in Germany
GfK GeoMarketing has produced a map illustrating the distribution of single-person households in Germany (data & map: GfK GeoMarketing).
According to the GfK study GfK Demographics 2008 for Germany, 38 percent of all German households are classified as single-person. However, there are stark regional variations: In rural areas, living alone is not as common as in cities. The highest portion of single-person households in Germany can be found in the capital Berlin, where more than 52 percent of all households fall into this category.
