The IDT UMPC timing devices also help extend the wireless signal range of the UMPC and improve the bandwidth, resulting in faster data transfer rates and improving the end user’s mobile Internet experience. They do this by supporting spread spectrum for reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and supporting programmable slew rate for reducing radio frequency interference (RFI).
“Our UMPC timing devices continue the IDT focus on power optimization, helping our customers extend the battery life of their products,” said Eric Leung, vice president and general manager of the IDT PC Clock division. “IDT also plays a key role in enhancing the digital media experience, and our UMPC timing devices are customized to help increase system bandwidth, making your mobile Internet experience more enjoyable.”
Features and Benefits
The IDT UMPC timing devices feature a 6mm by 6mm micro lead frame (MLF) package, making it 56 percent smaller than standard 8mm by 8mm packages, offering IDT customers a significantly reduced footprint on the board, thus reducing the overall size of the UMPC.
IDT also features pin-compatible UMPC timing devices for automotive and industrial applications. These devices are designed for use in applications, such as automotive infotainment, embedded and automation systems, that require an industrial operating temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
Pricing and Availability
The IDT family of UMPC timing devices (the 9UM9000 series and the 9UM700 series) is currently shipping in production and is available in 32 pins to 56 pins with QFN and SSOP packages. The commercial-grade IDT UMPC solutions range in price from $1.25 to $1.95 for 10,000 units. For additional information on the devices, visit www.idt.com/go/UMPC.
