Providence Expands in Houston

BATON ROUGE, La., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Providence announces an expansion in the Houston area by opening a new office in Houston, Texas. This expansion is driven by Providence's continued growth in Texas and the Gulf Coast. The new office will serve as a hub for providing services related to Environmental Consulting, Engineering, Planning, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), Staffing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Insurance Adjustments, and Government Services. The Houston office will also serve as the division headquarters of Providence Critical Infrastructure Protection (Providence CIP), a strategic business unit of Providence. With this move, Providence is expanding its reach to more effectively provide support to the energy and petrochemical markets, which are currently served by its offices in Baton Rouge, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Lake Charles.

With a vision of providing for the future of its clients, its employees, and the community, Providence has grown rapidly since its inception, serving clients in the U.S. and overseas. Providence is headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA with offices and staff in Dallas/Fort-Worth, TX, Austin, TX, Lake Charles, LA, Alexandria, LA, Gulfport, MS, and Mobile, AL. "Since our inception, we have serviced the Houston area from our corporate office in Baton Rouge, our Dallas office, and our staff in Austin. With this office, we look forward to being in the thick of things to better serve our client base in the Golden Triangle," said Rich Major, Co-founder and Sr. Managing Partner of Providence. The office is expected to be operational in August 2009.

In recent years, Providence's work in the Houston and Gulf Coast Areas has seen an increase, particularly in services related to air quality management, solid and hazardous waste management, water quality management, natural resource management, and disaster recovery. Houston, which ranks third among U.S. metro areas in number of corporate headquarters of Fortune 500 companies, will allow Providence to increase its market share, while bringing additional services to its existing clients in the area. The talented pool of engineers, technology professionals, and scientists in the Houston community, and the high density of the energy, refining, and petrochemical manufacturing facilities in the Houston Ship Channel are expected to fuel the growth of Providence's Houston office.
