The Sidwell Company announced the release of Parcel Builder. The Parcel Builder software suite is a product developed exclusively by The Sidwell Company, and provides users with a comprehensive set of tools for use in ArcMap 9.0 by ESRI.
Thales Navigation announced an enhancement for new and existing Z-Max survey system customers. The new features provided by Z-Max are designed to give surveyors even greater control over their GPS investment and make the process of GPS surveying even easier.
Thales also announced the worldwide introduction of new features and updated map data to its Magellan(R) RoadMate(TM) 700. From the creators of Hertz NeverLost(R), the Magellan RoadMate 700 is a portable vehicle navigation device offering built-in nationwide street-level maps for Turn it on and go!(TM) convenience. Now the Magellan RoadMate 700 will ship with the option to access the newest, most up-to-date maps for both Europe and North America on a single device. Another added convenience is the ability for customers to beam address book data from most Palm OS and Pocket PC devices.
DeLorme offers an ultra-compact, Bluetooth-enabled GPS receiver with data logging memory on board. The new Earthmate(tm) Blue Logger GPS offers a wide range of data logging and wireless data transfer for engineering, transportation and field force professionals equipped with Bluetooth-enabled PDAs or laptop computers.
Intergraph Corporation, global provider of Spatial Information Management (SIM) software, announced financial results for its third quarter ended September 30, 2004. Revenue for the quarter was $134.7 million, compared to $133.6 million reported in the third quarter of 2003. For the nine months ended September 30, 2004, revenue was $404.9 million, an increase of 6.1% from $381.5 million reported in the same period of 2003.
Operating income for the quarter was $7.6 million, or 5.6% of revenue, compared to $5.5 million, or 4.1% of revenue, reported in the third quarter of 2003. For the nine months ended September 30, 2004, operating income was $24.3 million, or 6.0% of revenue, compared to $12.6 million, or 3.3% of revenue, reported in the same period of 2003.
Garmin Ltd. announced record revenue and earnings for its third fiscal quarter ended September 25, 2004. Revenue for the quarter increased 43 percent to $193.6 million from $135.6 million in the year-ago quarter. Net income was $67.1 million, or $0.62 diluted earnings per share, compared to $35.3 million or $0.32 diluted earnings per share in the year-ago quarter. Third quarter net income included a $4.4 million foreign currency gain as a result of a stronger U.S. dollar compared to the Taiwan dollar. Excluding the effects of foreign currency, diluted EPS for the quarter was $0.58 compared to $0.39 in the year-ago quarter, exceeding the high end of management's guidance of $0.42 to $0.45.
MapInfo Corporation reported earnings per share of $0.09 for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2004 compared to earnings per share of $0.07 for the same period last year, representing a 29 percent increase on 4.7 million more average shares outstanding. Replays of the Webcast are also available at

NAVTEQ Corporation reported record revenue for the third quarter ended September 26, 2004. Revenue increased 37% over the third quarter of 2003 to $97.8 million. Operating income grew 13% over the prior year to $22.1 million. Net income was $13.6 million, compared to $18.7 million in the prior year's quarter. Diluted earnings per share for the third quarter were $0.15, compared to $0.21 in the prior year's quarter.
"In the first quarter of our transition from a private to a public company, I am pleased that we continued to execute in line with our plan, both financially and strategically," said Judson Green, President and Chief Executive Officer of NAVTEQ. "Sales grew as a result of strong demand across all of our major markets, investment in the database and related technology increased in order to strengthen our competitive position, and we continued to expand the services we offer our clients."
