Avenza Systems Inc. announced that live online MAPublisher demos are now available in France in the French language. Using technology from Glance Networks (
www.glance.net), and adding to similar availability in North America and The Netherlands, Avenza has teamed with its local distributor, Alain Olivier Geomatique, to make live online MAPublisher demos available to customers in France. Glance does not require any additional client side software. Clients simply log into a special Internet URL, enter a four digit password and they are able to view the desktop of a MAPublisher representative who then provides a custom live demo of
MAPublisher's capabilities. The person taking the demo can ask questions and request a review of specific functionality.
Analytical Surveys, Inc. (ASI) (Nasdaq: ANLT - News announced that the event of default that was announced on June 1, 2004, has been cured with the restructuring of the Company's $1.7 million Senior Secured Convertible Note ("Note"). The maturity of the Note has been extended until January 2, 2006. The Note is convertible into Common Stock pursuant to the terms of the previous Note or is payable in cash upon maturity at the option of the holder. The restructuring eliminated approximately $134,000 of accrued interest, and all penalties that had been incurred under the event of default. The holder of the Note relinquished its rights under a Warrant that was issued on April 2, 2002,
pursuant to the issuance of the original Note and which provided the holder of the Note the right to purchase 500,000 shares of Common Stock.
At the close of only its sixth month of operation, the GIS Certification Institute is pleased to announce that the number of Certified GIS Professionals (GISPs) has grown to 315 individuals. Each month a new group of Certified GIS Professionals is introduced to the community. The names of all Certified GIS Professionals (GISPs) can be found in an online manifest at
www.gisci.org. Because of the overwhelming response and the continued strong level of interest in the program, which began operation on January 1, the GIS Certification Institute has increased its initial prediction from 350 to 500 Certified GIS Professionals by the end of

Significant growth in the use of mapping and geographical data across both the public and private sectors is revealed in the Annual Report and Accounts of Ordnance Survey, presented to Parliament July 8, 2004.
The report also reveals that Ordnance Survey has successfully returned an overall operating profit for its first full five-year period as a self-financing Trading Fund, as well as exceeding the government-set target of securing a 9% annual average return on capital employed. Over the period from 1999 to 2004 it has also invested more heavily than ever before in new products, services and technology.
The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announced today panel sessions, events and keynote speakers for its GEOINT 2004 Symposium to be held October 12-14 in New Orleans. GEOINT 2004 is the premier platform for individuals, organizations, companies, academics, and government agencies involved in geospatial intelligence to exchange ideas, uncover new technologies, and network.
Featured keynote speakers include Lt. Gen. James R. Clapper, Jr., USAF (Ret.), Director, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); U.S. Rep. DigitalGlobe® announced that the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (DMR) has elected to include DigitalGlobe's QuickBird satellite imagery in its suite of geographic information system (GIS) data to help manage and protect a variety of coastal marine resources while promoting economic growth.

ESRI announced that Cartographic Applications Manager Peter Jolly of ESRI has been appointed to the position of international president for the International Map Trade Association (IMTA). He is the first person from outside the United States to hold this position. Jolly joined the IMTA in 1995 and in 2000 became a board member for the Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) region. In 2002, he became EAME region president.
DigitalGlobe® has hired Ray Summerell as its new director of customer solutions out of DigitalGlobe's Washington DC office. In this role, Summerell will leverage the company's current market position to create new business opportunities and support existing market segments. Specifically, Summerell will address customer relationships, product evolution, partnerships and new business opportunities surrounding the company's work with U.S. federal civilian agencies, lands, real estate, facilities and infrastructure, as well as state and local governments.

ESRI announced that Production Line Tool Set (PLTS) Foundation is now shipping. PLTS Foundation provides the basic database editing tools and PLTS components found within each of the PLTS solutions (Aeronautical, Defense, Mapping Agency, and Nautical) as well as the ability to implement customized business rules in the data modeling, attribution, validation, and output process. ESRI Business Information Solutions (ESRI BIS) announced the release of its printed and digital sourcebook products. This new release also contains updates and projections for data such as population, age distribution, and income. Demographic spending potential indexes are also included for 20 categories
such as financial services, home improvement, entertainment, home furnishings, apparel, automotive aftermarket, health insurance, pets, and pet supplies.
Utility Sciences Corporation (USC), producer of Utility GIS and Design software, announced their release of USDesign, an automated staking, design and cost-estimating solution for the utility industry.

GPS.NET is a software component which assists software developers with rapidly developing GPS-enabled applications for Windows® desktop and mobile devices. The component, now available for Visual Studio.NET®, boasts over 400 methods in 50 classes to perform virtually any GPS-related task, from calculating the distance to any point on Earth to writing applications which require highly-precise positional measurements.
CustomWeather has added dozens of new, colorful contour weather maps to its map offering for all parts of the globe. These attractive maps are available with forecast data out to 7 days.
