New Products

Geosoft announced the availability of its 2008 Target for ArcGIS software release, version 3.0. New 3D capabilities in this release enable customers to enhance their view of the subsurface, by creating and displaying subsurface geology as 3D geology voxels, and 3D geological surfaces. Geosoft will begin shipping Target for ArcGIS 3.0 the week of February 11, 2008.

Cadcorp has announced that Symology, a Cadcorp business partner and value-added reseller, has begun the customer roll-out of the latest version of its integrated infrastructure asset management system, Insight version 2.4. which can include the Cadcorp SIS ActiveX Control to provide an integrated digital mapping capability. Insight is used extensively by highway authorities within the UK as well as by numerous utility companies.

Telvent Miner & Miner is proud to announce the 9.2.1 release of ArcFM Server. ArcFM Server 9.2.1 has been augmented with the following functionality: ArcFM Viewer for ArcGIS Server, Electric Traces, Gas Traces and Water Traces and Identify Tool. Out-of-the-box ArcFM Server tasks and tools integrate with ArcGIS Server Manager to rapidly deploy GIS utility web applications.

Telvent Miner & Miner is proud to announce the official release of Fiber Manager, the enterprise GIS fiber optic solution. Fiber Manager is sold as an extension to the ArcFM™ Solution, which allows users to manage and maintain facility network data in an ESRI ArcGIS® environment.

Although useful for many applications, from real estate to local politics, neighborhood boundaries have been unavailable for use in GIS mapping software – until now. Spatial Insights is pleased to be able to offer Maponics Neighborhoods: hand-drawn and validated GIS polygons covering hundreds of US cities.

Neighborhood boundaries are significant because they represent areas of similar demographic and socioeconomic characteristics. By accurately defining these areas, more precise target marketing and trade area analysis is possible.

Magellan announced the market availability of AccuTerra(TM) outdoor map content from
Intermap Technologies recently at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) in Las Vegas. Beginning in April, Magellan customers can download the most comprehensive recreational content - including clear markings for public and private property -- for the new line of Magellan Triton(TM) GPS devices as well as its eXplorist(R) line of handheld GPS devices. Triton and eXplorist customers can acquire digital terrain data, off-road and recreation-related roads, trails, and points-of-interest for most recreation areas in the United States. AccuTerra provides map content for the lower 48 states plus Hawaii and will be available for purchase directly from the Magellan
web site.

MetaCarta, Inc., provider of geographic search and referencing solutions, announced GeoTagger OnDemand, a hosted service for digital publishers that identifies the places and points-of-interest mentioned in text documents, web pages and blogs, and relates them to their appropriate latitude and longitude coordinates, which enables them to be automatically displayed on maps, retrieved through a variety of search agents, or dynamically displayed with other geographically relevant content.

Leica Geosystems, a Hexagon company, unveiled the new face of laser tracking – the Leica Absolute Tracker. The all-new laser tracker offers scaled-up features in a scaled-down, sleek housing for ultimate portability and ease of handling on the factory floor. The product introduces substantial advances in thermal stability and volumetric accuracy, accelerated start-up times, major speed improvements, and a maintenance-free internal design. The Absolute Tracker integrates future-oriented technologies providing the basis for several new metrology products being developed by Leica Geosystems. The measurement systems are utilized for a wide range of industrial metrology
applications in aerospace, automotive, power generation, shipbuilding and general engineering.

Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging announced that IMAGINE Subpixel Classifier™ will be licensed and available to all ERDAS IMAGINE® Professional customers with the upcoming release of ERDAS IMAGINE 9.2.

Previously sold separately, IMAGINE Subpixel Classifier is the world’s leading image classification tool for advanced spectral analysis and interpretation. Subpixel Classifier provides dynamic searching and quantifying tools, enabling users to quickly extract the most comprehensive information from spectral imagery.
