Autodesk, Inc. announced that its Autodesk LocationLogic platform and Autodesk Insight and Family Minder applications, based on Oracle software, have surpassed the one billion transaction threshold for providing wireless subscribers with valuable location-sensitive data. Autodesk is committed to delivering secure location information to mobile users, and its collaboration with Oracle has enabled the company’s offerings to repeatedly meet the needs of users seeking maps, routes, geocodes and points of interest (POIs).


Autodesk, Inc. hosted the opening of the Autodesk Gallery at One Market in San Francisco, an interactive environment that highlights the impact of software and technology on the process of innovative design.


The 16,500-square-foot Gallery, located at One Market Street, is the first space in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to the spirit of design innovation, with 20 exhibits including the California Academy of Sciences, Ford Shelby GT500, Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, Calif., and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge seismic retrofit. The space is intended as a location where designers can discuss the latest in technology and be inspired by others' work.


Pictometry International Corp., a leading provider of geo-referenced aerial image libraries whose patented and proprietary technology is used globally to capture oblique image libraries, has captured, processed and delivered new oblique imagery to six Texas counties recently damaged by Hurricane Ike. The imagery was captured and processed within days of the devastating storm and will be used by county officials for damage assessment, recovery efforts and public communications.

Timmons Group, an ENR 500 Design Firm and a leader in geospatial and engineering consulting services, is pleased to announce that Lowell Ballard has been named as Director of Geospatial Solutions and will oversee the company’s Technology division.


Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announces the recent addition of Jason Knowles PhD, GIS Projects Manager, to their new Davie, Florida office.


Jason brings a wide variety of GIS experience, from municipal level consulting work to GIS emergency response work following Hurricane Katrina. He has designed and implemented many GIS systems and projects based on customer needs. Jason says that he is particularly interested in advanced public safety GIS solutions and enjoys being on the forefront of applied GIS technologies.


New Products


ERDAS will preview its 2009 annual release at INTERGEO, September 30 – October 2, 2008 at the Congress Center Bremen in Bremen, Germany.


ERDAS is exhibiting in Hall 5 Booth 5.518 as part of the Hexagon Group, Sweden. Attendees will be able to see new products, as well as the latest versions of existing ERDAS solutions. ERDAS is highlighting ERDAS IMAGINE 9.3, LPS 9.3, IMAGINE Objective, ERDAS APOLLO 2009, ERDAS TITAN 2009 and ERDAS Image Web Server.


QCoherent Software, provider of Limitless LIDAR software tools, announces the release of LP360 v1.6 and LP360 Classify v1.6


With an advanced architecture for accessing and processing LIDAR points, LP360 is the LIDAR tool of choice for integrating and processing LIDAR point clouds in ArcGIS. LP360 v1.6 provides ESRI GIS users with an uncompromised ability to leverage enormous LIDAR point cloud datasets.


CICADE, a company specialized in aerial cartography and digital mapping has announced it has developed the first ever vertical and oblique combined digital aerial camera together with DIMAC Systems, a leading global provider of digital aerial imagery solutions.


Leveraging more than 20 years of experience in digital mapping and vertical aerial photography, CICADE is joining forces with DIMAC Systems to conceive and produce the only oblique photogrammetric camera that makes possible the acquisition of vertical views at the same time as oblique images both using the unique TRUE FMC.


Alltel Wireless, America’s largest network, announced that Alltel Workforce Locator, a tracking and mobile resource management (MRM) solution designed by Autodesk, is now available on the first in a series of BREW devices enabled with location-based services (LBS) such as the Samsung R430, Samsung U520, LG AX260 and the LG AX300. Alltel Workforce Locator provides a scalable, easy-to-manage solution that empowers even small businesses to monitor their mobile workforce in real time, improving crucial aspects of business such as operational efficiency, customer service and workforce deployment costs.
