The 1.3 release adds support for waveform encoding of laser returns. The encoding of this new data extension is optional, allowing LAS 1.3 to be used as the specification in normal multi-return delivery products.

GeoEye, Inc. announced it will host its quarterly conference call and webcast for investors and analysts on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 beginning at 8:30 a.m. EDT. The call will include a discussion of the second quarter 2009 financial results, an update on the company's operations, and an outlook for Fiscal 2009.

DigitalGlobe global provider of commercial high-resolution earth imagery products and services, reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2009.

GeoEye, Inc. announced results for its fiscal second quarter ended June 30, 2009.

China TransInfo Technology Corp., provider of public transportation information systems technology and comprehensive solutions in the People's Republic of China ("PRC"), reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.

New Products

Trimble introduced the Trimble AP Series of embedded GNSS-Inertial OEM boards plus an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) in a compact form factor. The combined technology allows system integrators to add precise multi-frequency GNSS positioning and inertial data capabilities to their systems to provide continuous mobile positioning and high-accuracy orientation in poor signal environments. The AP Series is ideal for a variety of mobile positioning applications including airborne, terrestrial and marine mapping and guidance for unmanned vehicles.

Just over one week after the launch of the
UK-DMC2 satellite on 29th July, the first full resolution commercial grade image has been acquired and processed.

This first image shows the states of Texas and Oklahoma, USA. The DMC satellites are specifically designed to image very large areas with rapid response and at regular intervals, as shown in this first multi-state image. The new satellites can image much larger areas in a single pass than the previous DMC satellites due to advances in on-board storage and high speed satellite downlinks to the Earth.

3Di, Inc., which develops and offers 3D Internet solutions (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Satoshi Koike), will start providing the updated version of its original viewer software, 3Di OpenViewer*, from August 12, 2009. 3Di OpenViewer Version 1.1 allows end users to view and interact with 3D virtual worlds using web browsers.

StudioARS has released URBANO POLYGON for polygon topology. Urbano Polygon is a module of software family Urbano which works with polygon topologies i.e. parcels, zones or areas.

Urbano Polygon is an add-on to AutoCAD MAP, Autodesk GIS platform. Urbano Polygon is modern, attractive, flexible and stable application. IceWEB, Inc., announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, INLINE Corporation, has begun commercial shipping of their new MLP ManPac III portable Geospatial Information Server. The device, along with new optional expansion storage accessories is available to commercial and federal clients and Channel Partners immediately.

The latest update for DAT/EM Systems Summit Evolution is now available. Version 5.1 can now be downloaded from
DAT/EM Systems’ website. This latest release includes updates for Summit Evolution, Landscape, and CAPTURE for ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. In addition, Release 5.1 is fully compatible with Windows VISTA 32-bit and Microsoft Windows XP (latest service pack). Most CAD interfaces are also available on 64-bit XP and VISTA, with the exceptions noted below.

A new software and data package from
ESRI will help U.S. broadband service providers and telecommunications companies analyze broadband market opportunities as they prepare to apply for federal broadband stimulus funding. The Telecommunications Mapping and Analysis Package (TMAP) makes it possible to analyze cable and wire center data and locate areas ideal for broadband expansion, including rural and remote areas that are unserved and underserved by high-speed Internet.

GPS Connect's advanced Web Location Tracking application is a key part of GPS Connect location tracking service and provides customers with an industry leading set of real-time and historical location tracking functions.

In order to use GPS Connect Web Location Tracking one needs a computer connected to the Internet and running one of the modern Internet browsers (Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox 3+, Opera 9+, Safari 3+, or Chrome).

Timmons Group, a provider of geospatial and engineering consulting services, recently completed development on an ESRI 9.x ArcEngine Field Application for the Department of Mines, Mineral, and Energy (DMME). Timmons Group worked with DMME initially to scope and define the requirements for the ArcEngine application. Timmons was then engaged to develop and deploy the solution.

1Spatial is pleased to announce the release of version 1.7 of its entry-level CAD-GIS integration tool MapRelate.

MapRelate is a complementary component for AutoCAD that allows users to gain instant and direct access to their local or corporately held spatial data from within their native AutoCAD environment. This means a user can combine or overlay their design accurately against detailed spatial data, improving design precision and providing a simple solution for architects, engineers and data administrators to meet legal and customer obligations.
