Snowflake Software, a participating organisation in the Annex II & III data specification testing, announced its support for testing at the INSPIRE Conference in Edinburgh.
Taking a multifaceted approach, Snowflake aims to support participants in Annex II & III testing with their ‘You do it; we do it; we do it together’ philosophy, with an emphasis on supporting organisations through the testing process in a way that best suits their needs. Testing runs for four months from 20 June to 21 October 2011.
ITT Corporation announced a new initiative to support the integration of its software technology with the ArcGIS platform from Esri. ITT’s new Industry Solutions initiative will take advantage of ENVI tools in ArcGIS to build models and workflows that add image analysis functionality to industry specific applications for GIS users. The models and workflows will deliver image analysis solutions for natural resources, government, and defense and intelligence applications, allowing GIS users to easily extract meaningful information from imagery for more accurate and timely decision making.
GeoDecisions is pleased to announce that Kevin J. Switala, GISP, has been named a vice president. Based in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pa., office, Switala previously served as the director of homeland security and public safety, responsible for coordinating marketing, business development, project management, and support of geospatial technology projects for domestic and foreign government agencies. He has been instrumental in capturing and effectively managing multiple projects throughout the Middle East, facilitating GeoDecisions’ presence overseas.
Zebra Imaging announced that the company is launching a software add- in that will allow Esri users to print their 3D data in a holographic display for true 3D presentations and analysis. Zebra Imaging has created over 10,000 3D maps of areas of interest for the U.S. Department of Defense and is now bringing this unique 3D capability to Esri ArcGIS® Desktop 10 users.
PenBay Solutions LLC (PenBay) announced that it will begin the rollout of its InVision Solution Suite for Facilities GIS solutions at Esri’s annual International User Conference in San Diego on July 11.
The InVision Solution Suite was developed to provide facility executives with packaged GIS solutions for maximizing cost savings, performance and safety of their facilities over the entire facility life cycle.
Melissa Data Corp, a developer of high performance data quality and address management solutions, announced the release of its new Contact Verification plug-in designed for Pentaho Data Integration (formerly Kettle). Using a visually-driven user interface, and powered by Melissa Data's Contact Verification engine, the integrated component will parse, validate, correct and standardize U.S. and Canadian addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and full names. The powerful new tool will also geocode addresses to provide latitude/longitude coordinates in addition to other geographic information.
LizardTech, a division of Celartem Inc. and a provider of software solutions for managing and distributing geospatial content, announced the release of a plug-in for ArcGIS Desktop 10, adding support for MrSID Generation 4 (
MG4) files within Esri desktop products.

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is partnering with the

TomTom announces the beta release of the 2010 U.S. Census block boundary product.
