|Germany - Deutsches Klimarechenzentr um|| Twenty years ago, the German Climate Computing Centre (DKRZ) was founded. It provides computing resources to run numerical earth system models to simulate climate and climate change. At its 20th anniversary, the institute receives funding of approximately 60 million euro for a new building and a new supercomputer system. It includes more than 40 thematic USA data layers and has the next basic functionalities:
-Use of a standard WEB browser for user applications.
-Accumulation, storage and search of the mixed information - spatial and nonspatial data (SAND) in a uniform database (recommended and current ORDBMS: Oracle 10g, but it is possible adopt GIS DW Prototype for use of noncommercial RDBMS, for example MySQL).
-High-quality multi-color 2D vector visualization of SAND with capabilities of zoom and pan and management of SAND layers on client and server levels.
-Realization of basic operations of the spatial analysis; Spatial Clustering.
-Dynamic search of the shortest routes ("routing") on the basis of network model.

|Multiple Signature Generator (CSG2) and Maximum Likelihood Classifier (MLC) Model|| CSG2 or Multiple Signature Generator is a new algorithm introduced in PCI Geomatica 10.3. CSG2 is an enhancement of our older CSG algorithm (Classifier Signature Generator). With the introduction of CGS2 algorithm, CSG will be retired in future versions of Geomatica.
|Orthorectifying AVNIR-2 Data Rigorous and RPC Modeling|| AVNIR-2 stands for Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer Type 2. It is a successor of AVNIR-1 and is one of the three sensors on-board the ALOS satellite; the other two sensors are PRISM and PALSAR. The main improvement in AVNIR-2 over AVNIR-1 is the image resolution. While AVNIR-1 produced 16 meter resolution images, AVNIR-2 is capable of producing 10 meter resolution multi-spectral images.
