Charlotte-Metropolitan GIS User GroupThe primary purpose of the Charlotte-Metropolitan GIS User Group will be to educate and discover ways to improve GIS technology. The GIS User Group will help to encourage development of leadership roles, growth in GIS capabilities, promote employee succession and encourage further responsibilities. The Geomedia Lab (Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee, India)Geomatics Engineering (GE) Section is one of seven major sections of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Roorkee, India (formerly University of Roorkee). This Department was established in 1847 as the famous Thomson College of Civil Engineering, now the largest and oldest in the country. The GE Section has been offering postgraduate and Ph.D programs and degrees in ‘Surveying and Photogrammetric Engineering’ since 1958. Our Master of Engineering program is unique in the country, offering courses in GIS, Digital Image Processing, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Topographical Surveying, Adjustment Computations, Computer Graphics and allied subjects. The GE Section has excellent laboratory facilities for teaching and research, which include GIS, DIP and Photogrammetry packages and has a highly qualified faculty, most of whom acquired their Ph.D. from the U.K. or the U.S.
