Northeast Arc Users Group The Northeast Arc Users Group (NEARC) is one of several independent regional organizations that represent users of Geographic Information System (GIS) software developed by Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) of Redlands, California. ESRI software includes, among other things, such well-known GIS products as Arc/Info and ArcView. NEARC was formed in 1986; the geographic area encompassed by the group includes New England, New York and New Jersey, with some participation from users in Pennsylvania and Delaware. 0

Missouri GIS User Groups Scattered across the state of Missouri are people who use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in their daily activities to better manage Missouri's resources. Groups have been formed to precipitate networking and education for those users of GIS. GIS Conferences offer a broader range of contacts with other GIS professionals and the GIS vendor community. 2
Midwest/Great Lakes Arc Users The Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS) is part of the Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Survey is located in the Natural Resources Building on the University's 700-acre campus. This central Illinois location (map and driving directions) is just 130 miles south of Chicago. It is a cultural and educational center that is ranked as one of the top ten "high-tech" cities in the U.S. The area provides the attractive combination of small-city convenience and quality of life with ready access to world-class laboratory and academic facilities, Big Ten athletic events, and internationally acclaimed cultural opportunities. 0
Maine GIS User Group The Maine GIS User Group is an organization of people like you. It is an organization dedicated to providing a forum for the exchange of information and ideas between you and other members like you. The only way it can be successful is if you participate. GISMO GISMO is New York Metropolitan Area's largest GIS users group, with over 400 members from city, state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations and the private sector. GISMO meetings are held every six weeks at the Fund for the City of New York, 121 Sixth Avenue, Sixth Floor. 2

ESRI Regional User Groups Several user groups and specialty industry groups exist independently of ESRI and meet throughout the year to share information, data, tips on software usage, and project news. These groups are open to all users of ESRI software and include regional groups within the United States and outside the United States. 13

Charlotte-Metropolitan GIS User Group The primary purpose of the Charlotte-Metropolitan GIS User Group will be to educate and discover ways to improve GIS technology. The GIS User Group will help to encourage development of leadership roles, growth in GIS capabilities, promote employee succession and encourage further responsibilities. The GIS User Group has a goal to strengthen partnerships and create more areas of collaboration. The GIS User Group will have the authority to put together and market recommendations to other existing GIS leadership teams. Two events are held annually. 12
Autodesk User Group International Some 40,000 members strong, AUGI represents the voice of Autodesk product users. People just like you, who use Autodesk products every day. AUGI serves its members by presenting programs and information that will enhance their use of Autodesk products. In addition, AUGI delivers the voice of the user community to Autodesk, thus assisting Autodesk in product development and giving users a say in the process. 4
Autodesk User Group International AUGI is the Autodesk User Group International, officially recognized by Autodesk as representing the Autodesk user community. AUGI has two prime directives. The first is to assist its members by presenting programs and information that will enhance their use of Autodesk products. The second is to deliver the voice of the user community to Autodesk, thus assisting Autodesk in product development and giving users a say in the process. 1
