Seeking a researcher for a full-time position in Greenbelt, MD who has GIS and environmental science expertise to help develop, test, and expand a rainfall-triggered landslide model. The main activities of this position will be to work with different raster and polygon layers to diagnose landslide hazard, evaluate model outputs and improve characterization of landslide hazard and triggering conditions using GIS and other programs. The research will also involve managing and updating a landslide database of events . The person must hold a Masters Degree in a GIS or related field and have a background in Earth Science and statistics. Experience with landslide hazard assessment is ideal and knowledge of other programming languages including Java and Fortran are encouraged. Competitive pay commensurate with experience.
