Stretching a Map Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

How would a go about stretching/distorting a map?  I have a map of the United States and my boss tells me it's too long east to west.  How would I go about stretching it north to south?  I know how to adjust the scale, just don't know how to stretch it.  Any feedback would be great.  Thanks!

Sounds like what you might need to do is change the projection of the map.

If you're using ArcGIS go into ArcCatalog, click on the Toolbox, go to Data Management, Projections and Transformations, Features, Project.  And then just follow the steps.

Hope that helps!
