GIS Course and Programming Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

Hi,

I will be doing a Masters in GIS shortly. Many of the jobs I look at list one of the key requirements to be having knowledge in Java, C++, VBA and SQL. I Have SQL experience but none of the others.

Speaking to some admission tutors they say that Java is important but not having it won’t be held against me, when job hunting. The course I will be doing offers an optional module in Java, is it worthwhile taking it?

Is it also worth while gaining some programming experience in other languages such as C++ and VBA?

Thanks
