Open source GIS programs Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

I'm not sure if this is where I should go with this question (other place I should post it?), but I thought it was at least a related forum subject.  I'm new to GIS and have been using/testing several GIS programs to see which would work best for me.  I have ArcGIS 9.3.1 at work but can't afford it for home so I've perused several open source GIS programs, including MapWindow, Quantum GIS, OpenJUMP, uDig (very little perusal), and Map Maker.  I know there's a lot more out there but am wondering if there is a written review on open source GIS programs discussing their pros and cons.  Each of the programs I've used so far have their pros and cons for what I do but I'd like to get someone else's take too.  I'd like to try GRASS but have not been succesful in downloading it to my computer.

Anyway, anybody have any insight, info, etc.?
