Video card for stereoscopy Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

My organization have just recieved orthophoto images, including TIFF format in stereo and we would like to know what hardware should we purchase to view these stereoscopically? Any special video cards? I have read somewhere that Nvidia Quadra has stereoscopic ability for under $500. would that be sufficient?
Any experiences using digital stereo images?
thanks

Please read "Purchasing Photogrammetry Software" in Feb GISVision and "Stereo Feature Collection Software for GIS" in the June issue by Kyle Bohnenstiehl. Also, the software
you choose will really dictate the hardware setup
you need. The Nvidia card is designed for gaming 3-D,
not photogrammetry 3-D viewing. Although the
RemoteView software package does support it for stereo
viewing. For more info on this you can contact Kyle Bohnenstiehl directly at kiloaz1@yahoo.com
