Dear Listers,
I am working on a project in which I am serching for Commercial/Free/ Opensource GIS software tools. I want to know from this group the list of mostly used free/open source Tools.

Personally I have used ArcExplorer from ESRI to share data with other users. It's free but not open source.
I have tried MapWindow 3.0 which is like ArcExplorer except you get editing tools included. I think they have a newer version available now.
ALOV web based gis www.alov.org is a good (free - not for profit) one. It reads shapefiles even zipped up and you can customize using xml and java.
