GIS Business Problem Report this article as Inappropriate to us !!!Login to Reply

I have 2 problems and need to be solved immediately;

1. I receive a writ for damages from a commercial firm for whom I have carried out consultancy. It alleges my results – on which they acted – are now demonstrably false and I did not take due care and attention. What do I and my lawyer do first? How do I “cover my back”?

2. I take over responsibility for five demoralized and under-funded staffs in a GIS group in a commercial company. What should i do in first actions? How do I decide whether someone is doing a good job and what do I do if they are not?

I really hope that my problems can be solved immediately, and I say thank for sharing my problems

In re the 2nd problem, I am inclined to cite Potter Stewart's view on pornography. "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it." If you don't know quality work when you see it, perhaps you overstated your managerial skill to the employer. How did you land a job supervising even one GIS group, let alone five?
