speaking about resolution is very hard, because this term is related to both cartographic and imagery resolution. More over you can speak about spectral and spatial resolution.
In most cases psectral resolution refers to number of bands within an imagewhile spatial resolution is related to pixel dimensions of images: that is, the smaller the dimension, the bigger the resolution.
