Trelligence, IES, and ONUMA Announce BIM Server Interface Initiative

 

Houston, TX, USA, Glasgow, Scotland, UK, and Pasadena, CA, USA (December 5, 2011) – Trelligence, Inc., Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES), and ONUMA, Inc. announced support for a common BIM Server interface approach and a mutual intent to keep their respective technologies consistent with the common direction.  Trelligence is the creator of Trelligence Affinity™, an industry-leading architectural programming, design, and data aggregation tool.  IES is well-known for its innovation and expertise in creating early-stage to detailed building performance analysis tools, as well as the supply of related consulting and specialist services.  And ONUMA is a software and services firm that believes in open standards and which created the ONUMA System which has been used as the engine to drive the BIMStorm™ collaborations.

 

Trelligence, IES, and ONUMA are reacting to the widespread ambiguity in the AEC industry about the concept of a “BIM Server” by providing an open definition of the concept.  In addition, each of the companies already has working products that embrace key elements of the common BIM Server concept.  For example, Trelligence is   increasingly being recognized for its ability to provide repository and data translation capability across the entire architectural process, from beginning to end.  IES has long provided the ability to handle comprehensive sustainability analyses across the full building lifecycle.  And ONUMA has created the ONUMA Open Architecture™ that is built on transparent and open standards.  With this current announcement, the companies are affirming their intent to collaborate on the continuing creation of a coherent and open BIM Server concept, including a comprehensive interface description.
