Bluebeam Software to Showcase Project Collaboration Solutions at 2012 Tekla User Conference

Attendees to see how Bluebeam's PDF-based technology enables users to engage partners in digital project collaboration

PASADENA, Calif., Aug. 15, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — Bluebeam® Software, leading developer of PDF-based collaboration solutions for the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, is exhibiting at this week's 2012 Tekla® North American User Meeting. During the event, Bluebeam will show attendees how its platform solution, Revu® 10, enables users to digitally collaborate on shop drawings and 3D designs with project partners downstream.

"Bluebeam Revu 10 is the perfect solution for digital project collaboration," said Sasha Reed, Bluebeam Software Director of Account Services. "Whether you need to store project files in the cloud, easily collect feedback from multiple reviewers or quickly markup drawings while in the field, there are no limits to how Revu can help you engage project partners in digital conversations."

With Revu, Tekla users can create PDF shop drawings or import U3D files to create 3D PDFs. Users can then add customizable markups, measurements and stamps to PDF shop drawings, and even add text, shapes, clouds, leaders and CAD symbols to 3D PDFs. When 3D PDFs are annotated, a new view is created and a 3D markup indicator is placed in the model so reviewers can quickly navigate to related comments. By leveraging the PDF file format to share 3D data, Bluebeam is opening up project collaboration to team members who normally would not have access to BIM models.

To further streamline communication, users can leverage Revu's integrated collaboration technology, Bluebeam Studio™, and store PDFs and other files in a Studio project. Files added to this simple document management system in the cloud can be checked out, edited offline and checked back in with changes. Users can invite others to view their files with either Revu or Bluebeam's free PDF viewer, Bluebeam Vu™.

When more design feedback is required, PDFs can be added to a Bluebeam Studio session for online collaboration. Multiple reviewers can add markups to the same PDF simultaneously or separately on their own time. To make it easy to engage project partners in collaboration sessions, only the session host needs a full copy of Revu. Invited attendees can participate using Bluebeam Vu, Bluebeam Revu iPad or Bluebeam Vu iPad.

The 2012 Tekla North American User Meeting is taking place today through Friday, August 17th at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, Florida. For a demo and 30-day free trial CD of Bluebeam Revu 10, visit Bluebeam in booth #11.
