Si2 Announces 25th Anniversary

- Activities Planned for Design Automation Conference -

AUSTIN, Texas — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 2, 2013 — The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) is celebrating its 25th year of serving the semiconductor industry by staging several events at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) to be held in Austin, TX from June 2-6.

The first event will be the Si2 25th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration on June 3, with Dr. Kyu-Myung Choi, Senior Vice President of the Infrastructure Design Center, Samsung Electronics serving as the keynote speaker. Later that day, the Annual Si2 Open Reception will be held in the Austin Convention Center. Refreshments will be provided.

Both events are free of charge, more information and registration information can be found at this link: http://www.si2.org/?page=1544. Cadence Design Systems and Spectral Design & Test are sponsors for these two events. In addition, Si2 is a Platinum Record Sponsor of the “Kickin’ It Up in Austin” DAC 50th Anniversary Party at Austin City Limits later that same evening, where a special treat will be available in the Si2 area in the Austin City Limits facility.

Founded in 1988 as the CAD Framework Initiative, Si2 became the Silicon Integration Initiative in 1997 to reflect its broader scope in the development and adoption of standards to improve the way integrated circuits are designed and manufactured, in order to speed time-to market, reduce costs, and meet the challenges of sub-micron design.

There are currently seven projects underway at Si2 to address some of the most challenging problems for today’s and tomorrow’s technology nodes, all of which will be showcased at Si2’s booth #1427 on the DAC Exhibit floor. Featured in the new audience area of the Si2 booth will be speakers from Altera, Ansys, Cadence, IBM, Intel, Mentor Graphics, North Carolina State, Pulsic, Spectral Design & Test, STMicroelectronics, Synopsys, and Texas Instruments.
