WHY:

Automobile manufacturers have to balance intense competition and high expectations
with exponentially increasing vehicle complexity, globalization and emission
mandates that demand new technologies. Companies that can respond quickly to the
market while creating more time for successful innovation in vehicle development
will be the ones that succeed.

Dassault Systèmes is sponsoring a half-day event on May 14th to discuss these very
challenges and how the latest 3D development and social experience solutions can
help any company become more collaborative and agile, and develop true 3D digital
vehicle experiences that allow new features and technologies to be identified,
designed, simulated and implemented faster than ever before.

In addition to an industry overview given by industry analyst Stan Przybylinski of
CIMdata and discussions lead by Dassault Systèmes' Paul Silver and Michael LaLande,
there will be two customers on hand to discuss their firsthand experiences in
designing vehicles that account for today's design challenges:


·         The University of Toronto's College of Electrical and Computer Engineering
sponsors Blue Sky Solar Racing, a team brought together each year to design, test
and build a solar-powered race car that consistently competes in the World Solar
Challenge and American Solar Challenge. When designing a competitive solar vehicle,
many variables must be considered to optimize the tradeoff between power and drag,
including the baseline shape, weight of materials used, track width, wheelbase
driver positioning and more.



·         Plasan Carbon Composites USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Plasan Sasa of
Israel, supplies carbon composites parts to leading automotive OEMs worldwide.
