ASCENT Enhances eBooks with CADLearning Video from 4D Technologies

Video Explanations and Demonstrations Bring an Instructor to the Learner

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 15, 2015Rand Worldwide (OTCBB: RWWI), a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, today announced that its courseware division, ASCENT- Center for Technical Knowledge, has produced video-enhanced eBooks by incorporating content provided by 4D Technologies, developers of the industry leading CADLearning video library. The integration of video lessons with ASCENT’s Autodesk Official Training Guide (AOTG) curriculum creates a multi-format eBook offering that provides an unrivalled educational experience for any self-paced or classroom learner.

"Our Autodesk Official Training Guides have long been recognized as a leading resource for students in instructor-led training classes and for self-paced learners because of the comprehensive explanations, examples, and hands-on exercises," says Paul Burden, director of product development, ASCENT. "CADLearning video lessons add a multimedia element to our eBook format that complements the existing content and gives users an additional perspective on the features and techniques presented. Learners are now presented with content that enables them to read, watch, listen, and try, all from one resource."

ASCENT's video-enhanced eBooks are intended for use by self-paced learners and as a resource for instructor-led training delivery. Self-paced learners now get instructor insight, even in a self-study approach, while training attendees can augment the knowledge imparted by the live instructor with that captured in the training guide and video content. This provides an extremely valuable post-training resource that can be referred to frequently to refresh skills and knowledge.

“CADLearning’s video content is informative and concise, making it the perfect complement to ASCENT’s AOTG curriculum,” says Matt Murphy, director of content management and development, 4D Technologies. “Feature and process explanations, powerful video demonstrations and effective hands-on exercises come together in one source to reinforce learning concepts for visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners.”
