CAMBRIDGE -- The Dorchester County Council agreed 3 to 2 Tuesday to waive bids on an aerial mapping project, piggybacking on a Talbot County bidding process. Voting against the motion were Councilmen David Yockey (District 4) and Ricky Travers (District 3).

The request to waive bids, and agree to a sole source provider, was from the County Public Safety Department.

The cost of the project is $1.6 million for Dorchester. Talbot County had chosen Axis Geospatial of Easton through a formal bidding process.

The agreement to waive bids came after two other motions failed.
