Geocortex Essentials 1.2 for ArcGIS Server Released

January 15, 2008 -- Victoria, British Columbia -- Latitude Geographics announces the availability of Geocortex Essentials 1.2, software that simplifies the process of building enterprise-level applications built on ESRI’s ArcGIS Server and Web ADF technologies. Geocortex Essentials includes a powerful development foundation and ready-to-use tools that simplify the process of creating and managing ArcGIS Server applications.

While most other vendors are taking steps to adapt their ArcIMS-generation products to work with ArcGIS Server, Geocortex Essentials has been engineered from the ground-up using ESRI’s next-generation ADF technology—which Latitude Geographics considers critical for ensuring customers are on-track for the future.

Geocortex Essentials provides capabilities that dramatically reduce the time and effort it takes to create quality ArcGIS Server applications. Geocortex Essentials 1.2 provides everything you need to jumpstart success with ArcGIS Server 9.2.

In addition to a variety of key tools and features, Geocortex Essentials 1.2 introduces a web and GUI-based Geocortex Essentials Manager for creating and managing ArcGIS Server applications. Geocortex Essentials Manager means you don’t have to be a Visual Studio developer to build complete, feature-rich ArcGIS Server applications. Geocortex Essentials Manager provides total control over development and maintenance of real-world .NET ADF applications by leveraging an innovative configuration architecture, which includes the ability to manage template components across departments within an organization.

According to Steven Myhill-Jones, CEO of Latitude Geographics, Geocortex Essentials is much more than just useful tools and features for ArcGIS Server developers. “Our work over the last eighteen months represents the foundation of our vision for a cohesive, complete product that will continually evolve over time to complement ESRI’s ongoing technology direction,” explains Myhill-Jones, “and I think this product will especially appeal to people that are mindful of their long-term requirements alongside their short-term needs.”
