Circle Twelve Announces Software Plug-in for ESRI ArcGIS, Enabling Multi-touch, Multi-user Functionality on the DiamondTouch Table

BOSTON—(BUSINESS WIRE)—September 2, 2008— Circle Twelve Inc announced commercial availability of the DT Collaborate extension for ESRIs ArcGIS software, the worlds leading geospatial information system application. The DT Collaborate extension adds new features and capabilities to ArcGIS when used in conjunction with the DiamondTouch table from Circle Twelve.

The DiamondTouch table is the worlds first multi-user touch technology, allowing multiple people to interact simultaneously on a tabletop computer touch screen while identifying who is who. DT Collaborate brings the multi-touch, multi-user capabilities of DiamondTouch to users of ESRIs ArcGIS software, adding new capabilities including the ability to have GIS analysts collaborate on a single display, automatically labeling all feature inputs by user and providing a record of who did what, the ability to playback interaction timelines, and multi-touch gestures user interface for image navigation.

Dr. Henk Scholten, CEO and Founder of Geodan, a leading GIS systems integrator who has been evaluating Circle Twelves DT Collaborate commented, Many of our customers work in teams using GIS and intelligence data to make group decisions, especially those in the setting of emergency response or command and control. The DiamondTouch table with ArcGIS extension allows all the decision makers to interact together. Dr. Scholten added, It really facilitates collaboration and decision making.

Neil Tomlinson of ESRI commented, Circle Twelve is a new ESRI Business Partner and member of our Complimentary Technology Provider Program. Based on the reaction at last months ESRI International User Conference, I believe DiamondTouch will have a big impact on our customers.

Because geospatial analysts often work in small teams, the GIS market is a great fit for DiamondTouch. And with about a million users, ESRI is the right company for us to work with, commented Adam Bogue, President of Circle Twelve. Bogue added, This software plug-in will be the first of many for Circle Twelve. Our plan is to develop plug-ins in other vertical markets so that we can enable multi-touch, multi-user functionality to other leading software applications, making DiamondTouch relevant to larger and larger sets of customers.

The DT Collaborate extension for ESRI ArcGIS is compatible with the latest software release from ESRI, ArcGIS 9.3 desktop. DT Collaborate is available at an introductory price of $195 through the end of 2008, and is being sold directly by Circle Twelve.
