USGIF Launches "got geoint?" Blog at GEOINT 2008

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—October 28, 2008— The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) today officially launched got geoint?, a new blog covering all things related to geospatial intelligence training, technology and tradecraft. The Foundation announced the launch of the site, www.gotgeoint.com at the 5-year anniversary of its annual GEOINT 2008 Symposium in Nashville, Tenn.

Hosted and managed by USGIF, got geoint? provides unfiltered access to the views and opinions of intelligence and defense community leaders from government, industry, and academia. In addition, commentary on the latest developments in defense and intelligence will be mixed in with fun, hip and breaking news the about the broad range of topics related to geospatial intelligence.

While our tradecraft certainly has plenty of visionaries, leaders and cutting-edge technologies, in our estimation it is missing a voice in the Web 2.0 world, said Keith Masback, USGIF President. got geoint? will be the premier online destination and Web 2.0 forum for all things GEOINT-related. We know that our members, and indeed people from across our expansive community, will make it their preferred online destination for geospatial intelligence news and information.

The core mission of the Foundation is to build and sustain the overall GEOINT community, so it was clear that USGIF had to create an unparalleled online forum for sharing information and bringing people together.

More importantly, got geoint? is going to be a forum for everyone to be active in the conversation about geospatial intelligence, added Masback. As such, we are urging everyone to post comments and submit their latest news on an ongoing basis. got geoint? will be the virtual continuation of our hugely successful gatherings in physical space, including the GEOINT Symposium and NGA Tech Days, among others.

USGIF is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) educational foundation. USGIF is dedicated to promoting the tradecraft and developing a stronger community of interest between government, industry, academia, professional organizations and individuals whose mission focus is the development and application of geospatial intelligence data to address national security objectives.
