CONCORD, Calif., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Formtek, Inc. announced today that it has successfully implemented and delivered an open source ECM solution, based on Alfresco Enterprise Edition, to Dorfman Pacific.

Formtek is a leading provider of Enterprise Content Management solutions. Dorfman Pacific, one of the largest full-line, in-stock headwear and handbag companies in the world, selected Formtek to develop a more efficient method to manage and deliver their corporate images and associated metadata. The purpose of the solution was to facilitate the capture, management and delivery of product images in a manner that would lead to productivity gains within Dorfman Pacific, as well as increase the overall satisfaction of the Dorfman Pacific global user community.

The Dorfman Pacific Image Management Application, or DP-IMA, is based on Alfresco Enterprise Edition, the leading open source alternative for enterprise content management. Dorfman Pacific chose Formtek to provide the Alfresco software license subscription, as well as a full range of implementation and integration services, based on Formtek's status as an Alfresco Gold Systems Integration Partner, as well as Formtek's 20+ years of experience successfully implementing ECM solutions in a variety of industrial and manufacturing environments.

In addition to standard implementation services, Formtek was tasked to analyze and document Dorfman Pacific's unique requirements, including their desire to integrate the Alfresco ECM platform with their existing product-line database and Adobe(R) InDesign(R) application. The final deliverable included configuration modifications to the standard Alfresco software, as well as custom software to allow for image conversion, batch image processing, and data loading by Dorfman Pacific's graphic arts team. The production delivery and acceptance of the foundation DP-IMA took place at the end of June.
