Under the contract, WebTech Wireless' InterFleet subsidiary will provide Wood Buffalo with an AVL System, in addition to On-Board Diagnostics for Light and Heavy Duty Vehicles, Light and Siren Integration, and Status Code Button Boxes allowing fire vehicles to provide details to dispatch of current status.
The Municipality contains more than 3,000 km of roads maintained by the province, the municipality and various private organizations. The Regional Municipality intends to use the Vehicle Fleet Location System to accommodate a wide variety of vehicles including passenger vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, buses and heavy equipment such as sanders and garbage trucks. The AVL has been identified by the Municipality as one solution required for meeting municipal and public expectations.
