IDT and Micron Form Alliance to Develop PCI Express® Enterprise Solid-State Drive Solutions

SAN JOSE, Calif. & BOISE, Idaho — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 27, 2009 IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.) (NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience and Micron Technology, Inc. (NYSE: MU), one of the world’s leading providers of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced they have entered into an alliance to develop PCI Express® (PCIe®) Solid-State Drive (SSD) technologies for the server, storage and embedded markets.

As part of this alliance, IDT and Micron will co-develop enterprise flash controllers with a PCIe host interface optimized for Micron’s flash devices and future generation RealSSD™ solid-state drives. Combining Micron’s extensive experience in flash design and SSD development with IDT’s proficiency in PCIe solutions and memory interface products will enable devices to achieve lower latency, greater performance and new levels of storage integration.

“As the NAND landscape continues to evolve with application requirements and process advancements, it’s important that we ensure the interface options align with the technology,” said Dean Klein, vice president of memory system development at Micron. “Micron continues to be a leader in NAND-based storage and we recognize the complications manufacturers face when implementing new – and changing – technology into their systems. Through this alliance with IDT, we’re opening the doors for our customers to easily take advantage of the latest and most innovative flash technology, with features optimized for enterprise applications.”

“The existing IDT portfolio of memory interface products, PCIe bridges, switches and timing solutions with integrated Power Smart technology delivers industry leading performance and reliability to enterprise class customers today,” said Mario Montana, vice president and general manager of the IDT Enterprise Computing Division. “Our alliance with Micron, together with their enterprise flash products will, in the future, supply the industry with PCIe-based solid-state drive solutions with unparalleled performance and reliability.”
