In a groundbreaking event that marks a pivotal moment in space technology, New Zealand-based Zenno Astronautics (Zenno) has successfully launched the Z01 SuperTorquer, the world’s first superconducting magnetic torquer for fuel-free spacecraft attitude control. This historic launch, part of the SpaceX Falcon 9 “Korea 425” mission, took place on December 1, 2023, from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Housed within D-Orbit’s ION Satellite Carrier, the Z01 embarked on its maiden in-orbit mission, setting the stage for a revolution in space operations.
