Mr. Desai earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering degree from the University of Bombay, India and an master’s of science degree in electrical engineering from University of Texas at Austin.
"I offer a warm welcome to Ameesh as our new Chair, who will offer Si2 fresh perspective and insight as he takes on this important industry leadership position," said Steve Schulz, president and chief executive officer of Si2. "LSI is not only a long-time member supporting every Si2 coalition, but also represents the first fabless semiconductor company to Chair Si2's Board. I also extend my deepest gratitude for the excellent leadership of Rahul Goyal of Intel, who steps down after several terms as Chair and record levels of success for Si2."
"I am pleased to be elected as Chair of the Si2 Board and look forward to playing a leading role in this vital organization,” Desai said. “Si2’s diverse yet increasingly inter-related projects, along with their strong engineering and management expertise, continue to play a leading role in standards development as the industry proceeds to smaller device nodes and new technologies.”
