Santee Cooper Extends GO! Sync Mobile GIS to its Transmission Division

Carlsbad, CA - July 29, 2008 - TC Technology announces Santee Cooper has extended its GO! Sync Mobile GIS deployment to its transmission division

After selecting GO! Sync as its standard for mobile GIS, Santee Cooper deployed Mapbook with the Redline Extension to support field operations in its distribution division. The initial delivery included several targeted customizations that were later incorporated into the GO! Sync product.

GO! Sync Mapbook is inherently open and extensible, and Santee Cooper took advantage of this key feature to create a solution to support a variety of distribution operation business processes, such as:

  • Surface Mounted Equipment inspections
  • ROW Management (tree trimming)
  • Storm Damage Assessment
  • Reject Pole or Danger Pole Assessment
Based upon the success of this initial roll-out, Santee Cooper has since extended its use of GO! Sync by deploying further licenses to the transmission division. In addition to general map navigation and redlining, the transmission division is actively working to develop a line patrol application for transmission corridor inspections.

Jeff Zelenak, Engineering Associate for Santee Cooper states, “The core extensibility options and the overall ease of use, rapid deployment support and centralized maintenance make rolling out new applications quick and easy. We’re very happy with the solution that TC Technology has delivered, and we plan to continue to expand the use of GO! Sync.”
