(Dec. 16, 2010/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry specializing in geospatial solutions, has been selected by Lycoming County, Pa., to provide a publicly available Internet mapping portal to the county’s enterprise geographic information system (GIS). Lycoming County’s GIS supports a wide range of applications and services, including, public safety, transportation, utilities infrastructure, tax assessment, economic and land use planning, developmental activities, schools, and management of data related to engineering purposes.
GeoDecisions will provide the ArcGIS® Server Flex API solution to enable greater efficiency, productivity, and decision making capabilities at all levels of county administration and operations and to provide the public with ready access to this information. The Web site features tax parcel search and floodplain/floodway overlays and became available in December 2010.
“We are excited to launch this new Web site for public access to detailed floodplain mapping,” said Fran Jones, supervisor of GIS at Lycoming County. “This Web site will be a useful tool as we begin our newest flood mapping project, Risk Map.”
