GeoGofer was designed to make it easier to find, organize, and track geospatial imagery. With that in mind GeoGofer comes with powerful search and filter features that can be used to find imagery by keyword, by projection, by file format and more.

GISCafe: Does GeoGofer work with other GIS products other than Esri’s ArcOnline?

JS: GeoGofer stores its database in ArcGIS Online, but the images themselves can be opened in virtually any GIS application, since they’re industry standard formats like MrSID, JPEG 2000, and GeoTIFF.

GISCafe: How does this query and find system work exactly?

JS: We have a simple query builder tool that customers can use to generate their request. For instance, they can query all MrSID image that have 4-bands that were collected in 2012 by just selecting a few fields. See the above screenshot for an example.

GISCafe: Can users also distribute the images after identifying and cataloguing images? How is that accomplished, if so.

JS: For the current release, GeoGofer can export the results of your query to a location on disk, so you could easily export your results on an external hard drive to take into the field.

GISCafe: Are there any size considerations with the images?

JS: There are no size limitations, so users with hundreds of gigabytes or even multiple terabytes of imagery can jump right in.

GISCafe: What system requirements do users need?

GeoGofer requires an ArcGIS Online account, Microsoft Windows (7, 8, 2008, 2013), and a minimum of 4GB of RAM.
