Video: Data Extraction Services in ArcGIS Server 10

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Esri Product Manager Ismael Chivite describes how to serve your maps in a way that your users can select and download map data for their own use. You can do this by using one of the sample data extraction models provided with ArcGIS Server 10. These models are written in Python, so you can customize them or use as-is. Ismael demonstrates how to create both a map service for the layers of your map, and a geoprocessing service which provides the select, extract, and download operations. If you add in the optional Data Interoperability Extension, you can provide your users over 100 different GIS and spatial data formats to choose from.
